Prayer & Liturgy
Prayer Spaces
We encourage children to use our reflection spaces both inside and outside of the school building to spend some quiet moments with God. The children are taught a selection of prayers but also encouraged to pray spontaneously during our class reflection time.
Our year 6 'Leading Lights' lead a prayer group in our new prayer space. Children are welcome to join the year 6 children in sharing some prayers and reflections as well as appreciating time to talk to God.
Celebration of the Word
All of our children are involved in planning and leading parts of our celebration of the word. Some reflections are recorded by the children in our class big books.

Stations of the Cross
During Lent, every class visits St Thomas' church to reflect on the Stations of the Cross. The children are encouraged to have time to reflect on the events leading up to Jesus' death and what they mean for us today.
Visio Divina
Each term, we spend time in quiet reflection called visio divina where we use a piece of sacred art to facilitate a meditative and powerful prayer experience. The children are encouraged to recall what they can see in the image and what message God might be saying to them through this image.
Passion Play
During Lent, our Year 6 pupils re-enacted the Passion Play to the rest of the school. We followed the journey of Christ and reflected upon His message of hope for us all.
Crowning of Mary
In May, the Mini Vinnies planned and delivered a liturgy to Mary. The children brought some flowers and their prayers up to the altar. The Mini Vinnies reminded the children of the special qualities of Mary and how she hears our prayers and takes them to God.
